Lean on Me

A downfall of a school because of politics interference in education system is evident in this movie... importance given to funds to run the school destroyed the standards of a well-reputed school. It did not only down-graded the school but in long term, the school was categorized as the most notorious place to be for students.

Politics in education will lead to negligence of students (welfare and education). A principle who tried to fight the system is condemned and imprisoned for trying to protect the school children in this movie.

As a teacher-trainee, i was inspired to give importance to my duty duty as a teacher and my students rather than fearing the political issues that tries to alter or disrupt my students' teaching and learning process. My students should not feel abandoned at any time and resort to social issues that gives them the recognition that schools fails to provide them with.

Bottom-line, it is well known that interference of politics in education brings to abolition to the education system of the country.

  1. Hi Renuga,

I totally agree with your statement, “The interference of politics in education brings to abolition to the education system of the country.” Undeniably, or rather inevitably, politic affects almost everything in the world, not only education. Even when politic does not interfere with education, education itself already has politic of its own. As shown in the documentary, “Chalk”, teachers have dilemma because of politic in the staffroom. Even in normal classroom, students also have their politic.

Haiz…… Can we ever break away from politic? Never like it. :(

  2. hello, renuga..
Woww!politics, huh?i don't know why but every time i hear the word politic, i feel suffocating. from what i've read in the newspaper or heard from the radio, it's not something pleasant and it's endless! that's why i do not have any heart to know anything about politic because it's tiring.. for me, i would just give my best to my students because i do not want to get involved with this politics stuff. i believe there are so many things that we can do to help our students other than opposing the authority. it's not that i'm implying to be a naive, loyal follower but try to be creative and believe in what you are doing will gives benefit to the students..
Let the mind speaks..Listen with your heart..

  3. hi renu,
I agree with you, huey fen and huda. Please don't bring in politics into our education system as it would take away the dignity of the school. Politic in school administration would restrain the activities of the principal. We already have so much to deal with we don't need any more problems in school.
